Series: ABSTRACT SNAPSHOTS

The "Snapshots" series was born when I was tearing up works on paper I wasn't satisfied with.
I was already on my way to the trash with the pieces in my hand when the beautiful torn edges of the approximately 600g handmade paper caught my eye—thankfully! So instead of throwing them away, I continued working on the torn pieces. The first theme in the series was "STRIPES", the 2nd is "URBAN JUNGLE" (finished but not published yet).

The free-floating presentation in the deep object frames really highlights these unusual pieces.

Series: DON'T EXPECT LIFE TO MAKE SENSE

In the "DON'T EXPECT LIFE TO MAKE SENSE" series I explore painting, though I do it since years. I force myself to use new tools, new colours or to mix them in different ways, playful, no expectations. It's about simply let coincidences happen, to deal and live with them - just like life is. So the series on the one hand has a lot in common, on the other hand, very diverse works are created.

Series: MOOD BOOSTER

I started this series in 2022 when COVID-19 pandemic (still) hit the world. It was a strange time in which various restrictions were in place and people were accordingly limited in their lifestyle and leisure activities. My idea was to bring color, joy and happiness to people homes with these colorful, bright small works on paper. The title refers to the booster vaccinations that were being administered at the time.

Series: PAINTING DIARIES

I usually use "other" objects as painting palettes instead of traditional palettes. For example, I like to use telephone books: available for free, and when you're finished, you tear off the top pages. Super practical, but at some point I realized that as a mixture between painting and object they have real charm. Since then, I've been paying attention to how a palette look in the various stages. And if it happens that one has that certain something, I set it aside and later develop it into part of this series.

Series: STUDIO CONVERSATIONS

The works in this series are created from the leftover paint from large works, which I use up on small pieces of paper at the end of the day.
Without consciously working on the individual pieces, I continue with the paint leftovers from the following days, weeks, etc. Thus, the works grow step by step until I pick out individual pieces and then further work on or complete them. This is how the title came about, as all of these works are in dialogue with each other, but also with the corresponding larger formats - STUDIO CONVERSATIONS.
