This Czech poster is for the 1979 film entitled, Jesus, which, in the United States, is often referred to as The Jesus Film. It was filmed in Israel, mostly with Israeli actors, at a cost of $6 million that was largely financed by Campus Crusade for Christ. The film tells the complete Jesus story according to the Gospel of Luke. Because the film has basically been screened for free around the world, Jesus is often considered to be the most-screened and most-translated film of all time. The film has been used to evangelize potential converts the world over, and this poster embodies something of that spirit, with the crucified Jesus staring directly at the viewer.
