Studio Torron Litho. An original Italian feature released under the title, "Costantino il grande," and also "Constantine and the Cross." The lower right corner of the poster indicates that it is the British Lion Presentation for the release in England. The film was also titled Constantine and the Cross, which was a reference to the legend that Constantine saw a cross of light in the sky, along with a command in Greek: “In this sign conquer,” prior to battle in 312 AD. Directed by Lionello de Felice, the film starred Cornel Wilde as Constantine, Belinda Lee as his fiancée, Fausta, and Christine Kaufmann as the virtuous Christian Livia. Like many other films in the genre, the poster promises romance, sensuality, and violence, but critical reaction to the film was not kind.
