I really enjoyed making this series of joyous pictures of early spring anemones. The pink petals shone like silk in sunshine and the near-black central boss stood proudly. Very delicate and very strong. I decided to opt for large scale with a touch of retro 'pop art'. This is the fourth I made and I really like the build up of texture and excitement for the eye - multi-colour, veining, transparent layers showing through. Also the palette for this version has an Americana folk feel about it - think well washed quilts over a rough balcony rail or similar.
