Deep, dramatic jewel-toned colors. The orange flecks still visible in this piece are the original color of the fabric, which was a transfer of my beautiful painting "Orange" (#2008-03) to polyester. This sculptured CoLorField painting was created from soaking polyester fabric in latex paint, draping and scrunching over a gallery wrapped canvas. Franz Kline used this color in much of his Abstract Expressionist work; hence, the title. Franz Kline Blue is recurring color in my painting. I always want to see some evidence of previous versions of my work, to remind me of what was previously. Shown also above, more in this body of work, different colors, in my studio.
