Bowl, 10 x 6.25 x 1.5 inches. Brown transfer with polychrome clobbering. The maker is unknown, but the impressed "SCR" and "bleu" suggests a French maker. This pattern features a central oval vignette of a country village composed of wooden buildings, including a church, nestled in a forest with a lake and hills in the background. The vignette is bordered on top by blooming roses and to the right and bottom by vines of leaves and berries. The border consists of a vermicelli band filled with repeated blackberry and flower motifs and bordered on top and bottom by alternating, stylized three-petaled flowers and leaves.
