Pitcher, 6 inches tall. Brown transfer. Unknown maker. This pattern features a large flying bird, perhaps a Chinese pheasant or the mythical phoenix (Fenghuang), flying over water and bamboo/grass-type plants. The scene wraps around the body of the pitcher and the other side features a pagoda perched on rocks surrounded by palms. The handle and inside rim feature a continuous branch of bamboo with leaves.
