In the world of phones and online dating apps, sexism in the dating world is quite apparent. From catcalling at bars, to sending dick pics without consent, to people lying to get phone numbers, to people stalking on social media, to queer people navigating apps designed for straight couples - dating in the modern world can be quite trying. It is full of people who still believe they have the audacity to not call someone back, or that they can be inappropriate because it is over the internet. They Don’t Call Us is a place for gender minorities to talk about their struggles with sexism while dating and revel in their successes with self love and self care.

30works30days encourages daily making, risk-taking and experimentation. If you are stuck in a creative rut, are looking for a bit of informal structure, or enjoy responding to a creative brief, 30works30days might be for you.
Each day in April participating artists are emailed a brief to prompt a new piece. How (or if) your daily piece of work responds to the brief is up to you. But to remain involved you must make a new artwork and upload it to the 30works30days website by midnight every day. Miss a day, and you’re out of the project.
With the time restriction of one day you may find the choices you make, the corners you cut, and the ideas that you couldn’t quite realise are as important as the work you produce.
You will be able to view other artists submissions throughout April on our dedicated 30works30days project website.

They Call Us is a literary magazine created by powerful people wanting to empower gender minorities.
Women’s anger carries a certain social stigma. If we vent, we gossip. If we complain, we bitch. If we get sassy, we get catty. Yet, throughout history, gossip and catty remarks have been a means of reclaiming power, from outing dangerous men in charge to giving side eye to whoever wore white to my best friend’s wedding. Unfortunately, that same anger can be directed toward each other. We were all raised in a misogynistic society and sometimes we weaponize our anger and are taught sexism to harm our fellow women. They Call Us Catty is a place for gender minorities to let out their claws, challenge the stigma of our anger, and explore the complexities of our relationships.

Artists on the Lam is thrilled to announce the launch of our inaugural zine, Laminator! All artists, poets, and writers from anywhere in the world are welcome to submit work for publication!
In an ever increasingly digital world, we often find ourselves seeking ways to unplug, searching for the tangible, the analog, something tactile and physical we can touch and hold with our own hands, something to keep and cherish as a memento, as ephemera, something to lose, something to find, something to give and share with a loved one like a secret.
And, much like the soothing sounds of a pencil scratching on paper, there’s just something about the feel of flipping through the pages of a good book.
What we’re looking for:
Visual art (all mediums and forms are welcome! examples:)
- Drawing
- Painting
- Photography
- Printmaking
- Collage
- Etc.!
Poetry
Prose
- All forms are welcome, including non-fiction such as personal essays, anecdotes, letters, etc.!
There’s no theme; submit your best work! (But if that’s too broad for you and you’d like some guidance, here’s a theme Artists on the Lam has always been obsessed with: Dreams. Interpret that however you wish.)
There’s no application fee! It’s free to submit to the zine!
Ready to apply? Complete the steps at http://www.artistsonthelam.com/zine-open-call (includes an optional additional opportunity for artists in the form of an online art show)

Callout for artists, makers and performers! Expressions of Interest and applications for WAF Grant funding are open now to be part of next summer’s Wandsworth Arts Fringe festival, from 7-23 June.
Every Summer, WAF brings together hundreds of creatives in a bold and boundary pushing annual line-up of cutting-edge theatre and dance, brand new music, exhibitions, comedy, performance art, outdoor extravaganzas and everything in between, taking place across the borough of Wandsworth.
Wandsworth Arts Fringe is a proudly inclusive, open-access festival. We pride ourselves on being a testing ground for bold, experimental work, and we’re looking for professional and emerging artists who want to present their work to new audiences.
Plus, Wandsworth's going for London Borough of Culture 2025 so we really want to showcase the fantastic creative home we live, work and play in with our most exciting, diverse programme yet.
Whatever kind of creative practitioner you are, if you want to try out new ideas, connect with creative networks and be part of something that thrills, moves and inspires audiences from across London and beyond, WAF wants you!
Express your interest online by 5pm on Thu 14 Dec 2023, or find out more about taking part via our website.
Filling out an Expression of Interest form is a non-committal way of telling us your plans and letting us know if you need any help or advice. You don’t need to have a clear idea of what you’d like to do, and we won’t hold it against you if your project does not come to fruition for any reason!
Need support? WAF offers up to £2,000 per project via our WAF Grants scheme to help fund project ideas that meet our strategic aims, plus the Wandsworth Grant Fund supports arts and culture projects taking place in the borough with awards of up to £10,000.
WAF also offers 50% off registration fees for artists under 26 or for artist collectives with over half of their members aged under 26.
