The TBW Drawing Prize exhibition and awards are open to applications by emerging, mid-career and established drawing practitioners based anywhere in the UK and internationally. Up to three drawings made since January 2021 may be entered by each applicant for consideration by the Selection Panel.

Art of Possibilities Art Show & Sale is a project of the Allina Health Foundation and Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute (CKRI). It is one of only a handful of juried art shows in the world exclusively featuring artists with disabilities. Held every year since 1963, the Art Show & Sale is a much-anticipated celebration of fine arts attracting hundreds of artists and thousands of visitors from Minnesota and around the world. The Art of Possibilities Art Show & Sale provides a forum for artists with disabilities to sell their work, promotes the talents of artists with disabilities, and creates a cherished and inclusive community event for people of all abilities.

The Art Gallery supports and fosters innovative and experimental contemporary art in all media through exhibitions, events, projects, and residences. The Art Gallery is a catalyst for interdisciplinary collaboration and learning at the intersection of art and technology, and features the work of national, regional, and cultural contexts of the art of our time. Students also have the opportunity to learn more about the creative process and to think critically about the works presented.

Artists across the country are encouraged to submit their work for the 2023 Arkansas Quail and Turkey Stamp Art Competition. Accepted works will be exhibited March 18 - April 22, 2023 at the Historic Cane Hill Gallery in Canehill, AR. The grand prize winners in each category will receive $2,500 and see their work featured on the state Turkey and Quail Stamps. First and second runners-up will each receive $500 and $250 respectively. Open to all U.S. residents 18 years of age or older. Original, hand-created artwork only.

Cannibals of Love, curated by Ejecta Projects

Cannibals of Love takes as its inspiration the romantic comedy genre in film and television – the “Rom Com” – to “cast” an exhibition that explores themes of love and humor.

This is an open-call. Visual artists are invited to submit works of art that are inspired by, critique, or reflect notions of heartache, summer flings, awkward love triangles, unlikely couples, one-night stands, unrequited loves, the “meet cute,” or other tropes of Rom Coms. More specifically, submitted works will explore romance and/or humor in relation to cinematically-scaled stories of pathos and eros.

Although the prompt might at first appear to engage with light-hearted frivolities, the curators seek a nuanced survey of contemporary artistic responses to love and power, as well as a diverse examination of relationships and romance. With the mention of cannibals in its title, the exhibition also welcomes investigations about the intersections of desire, appetites, and other perceived taboos and “improper” behaviors largely absent from or suppressed by Hollywood and Hallmark. Moreover, the curators invite critical approaches to the conventional heteronormativity, pervasive whiteness, and gender politics of the film genre.

Ultimately, the artists in the exhibition, selected for their range of perspectives, identities and works across visual media, will provide viewers with new and inclusive insights into the shared human impulses to love and laugh.

Other visual or experiential “cues” that the curators imagine could be pertinent include: period drama, summer blockbuster, forbidden love, unlikely pairings, doubts at the altar, attention-grabbing movie trailers, sequels, and celebrity, among others.

Every month we will choose our new 'Photographer of the Month'. The call is FREE for every member of the 'Photo Contests Club'. The call is open to any photographer or artist using the photographic medium, every photographic styles is accepted. Park West Fine Art Museum & Gallery has announced their first annual “Painted in New York” artist competition, searching for the best artists in New York. The lucky winner will be offered a year-long contract and, upon mutual agreement, the opportunity to showcase their original art at the Park West SoHo location for a special three-month exhibition.

Submissions are being accepted through March 31, 2023, for the 2023 Abiquiu Inn Outdoor Sculpture Walk & Garden Exhibition juried by Doug Coffin and Star York. Fire Safe Marin and Marin Center Cultural Services invite artists to submit works of art exploring what it means to adapt to wildfire. Juried selected works will be exhibited at Ember Stomp, an annual Wildfire Prevention Festival at the Civic Center Fairgrounds on May 20, 2023. The 21st Uptown Arts Stroll/Paseo de las Artes is a hybrid of in-person & virtual programming in June 2023 from West 135th to West 220th Street in West Harlem, Washington Heights & Inwood. The Uptown Arts Stroll started as a volunteer organized one-day event the Sunday before Thanksgiving 2003 and grew into a month-long festival celebrating northern Manhattan’s visual and performing artists. Studio Visit is a series of juried artist books. Since 2008 we have offered artists a new and effective venue through which to introduce their work to a serious national audience of art world professionals. Each high quality volume of Studio Visit features approximately 150 artists, who have been selected by professional curators. Selected artists will be given the opportunity to redeem a 1-4 page full color spread that includes 1-4 images image, contact information and a brief artist statement, which will be published in two volumes of Studio Visit scheduled to be released in the Fall/Winter of 2023-24.

Each year, WaveMaker at Locust Projects awards a total of $60,000 in grant funding to artists across Miami-Dade County in the following three categories:

New Work / Projects: Grants up to $6,000 each to support the creation and presentation of visionary, artist-driven new work / projects.

Curatorial Proposal Guidelines
Descanso Gardens presents a variety of exhibitions and programs each year including solo, group, traveling, and guest-curated displays. These are intended to broaden the education programs by presenting art, science, and relevant historical material to support the mission of Descanso Gardens “connecting people with nature and one another.” Through our exhibitions and programs, we strive to deepen our impact in our community, strengthen engagement with members and visitors, and create experiences of discovery and connection.

Descanso Gardens seeks curatorial proposals for the 2024-2026 calendar that will address the following requirements and selection criteria:
• Theme: Trees. Trees form the backbone of Descanso’s botanical collections and are key to the garden’s character. From the canopy above, to the roots underground, trees provide beauty, shade, shelter, habitat, food, connectivity, and movement at the Gardens. Around the world, trees are symbols, metaphors, landmarks, elders, part of legends, and people’s daily lives. What can we learn from trees? How can we celebrate them? How do they connect and protect us? What stories are revealed by careful study of trees?
• Curatorial Concept: The exhibition/ program concept must closely align with the mission of Descanso Gardens to connect people with nature and one another, reflect the latest knowledge on the subject matter, foster innovation, as well as inspire discoveries and creative contributions that respond to Descanso Gardens’ botanic collections. As an organization located in Los Angeles County, Descanso Gardens prioritizes the inclusion of diverse viewpoints, backgrounds, experiences, and community connections;
• Interdisciplinary Approach: Descanso Gardens seeks proposals that utilize a creative blending of disciplines, media, and diverse points of view;
• Media: The proposal may use any media type (artworks, installations, performances, projections, virtual reality, text, etc.). The exhibitions and programs must be appropriate in scale material, form, and content for the cultural and physical environment in which they are to be presented. The proposed works, displays, and programs don’t need to be new and may have been presented before;
• Scope: The exhibition will utilize the indoor spaces of the Sturt Haaga Gallery and/ or the Boddy House (The Gallery is 1750 sq ft in 3 rooms plus the front window area; The Boddy House is a historic building with 2220 sq. ft. of exhibition space ranging from a single room at 330 sq ft to 2220 sq ft for all 5 rooms). Outdoor use of the botanical gardens is welcome. Programs may utilize any of the indoor/ outdoor spaces of Descanso Gardens.
• Collaborative partnerships: Proposals that establish partnerships with other cultural organizations, educational and botanical institutions, community members, and Descanso Gardens visitors are preferred;
• Audience: Descanso’s visitorship has been growing over the past few years and the Gardens attract an audience that is more diverse in race or ethnicity than many other museums and gardens . However, many attendees may be first-time visitors to the Sturt Haaga Gallery or the Boddy House, and exhibitions and programs in these spaces should consider ways to engage “first-time visitors” as well as people who are already familiar with the garden’s gallery spaces and exhibitions;
• Accessibility and Engagement: Descanso Gardens strives to expand access, engagement, and education opportunities for a broader public. Preference will be given to proposals that prioritize opportunities for visitor participation, hands-on activity or response, as well as engaging diverse programming that reaches out to traditionally underserved groups. At Descanso, there is an opportunity and need to attract more visitors who identify as Hispanic or Latino/Latina/Latinx, Asian or Asian American, and other minority groups, so that visitorship reflects more closely the diversity of surrounding areas and Los Angeles County;
• Budget: Descanso Gardens rely on a range of budgets typically within $25,000-$60,000. Proposals outside of this range must include potential funding sources, such as grants, foundation support, or sponsorships. Budgets must include curator fees, artist/ collaborator stipends, collateral design and copy writing, installation and de-installation, framing if needed, photography, equipment rental, shipping, travel, reproduction rights, etc. Insurance is provided by Descanso Gardens.
• Group Applications: Curators are discouraged from submitting or including their own artwork; artistic collectives may be included within curatorial proposals but should not submit their work without a specific curator.

Art@Climate 2030 is an art competition that encourages artists to explore the issue of climate change and its impact on the environment and people. The competition is open to all artists from around the world and will be judged by a panel of experts in the field of art and climate change. A professional jury will select 10 winners from the 50 entries that make it to the finals after public voting. No entry fee. A short description about the artist and the artwork will be displayed together with a QR time on the competition’s digital voting platform. This will run from 15 May until 15 August. During June, we will exhibit 30-50 of the entries, which we believe represent the theme of the competition well, in Gothenburg. The exact location of the exhibition will be announced before the event. Between 15 August and 1 September, a professional jury will be tasked with selecting 10 winners from the 50 entries that made it to the finals during the public vote on the platform. Artists-in-Residence receive private housing adjacent to McColl Center, a large-scale private studio in our historic building in Uptown Charlotte, curatorial guidance, marketing and PR support, and a generous stipend. Franklin Furnace Archive, Inc. announces the new $10,000 award for avant-garde artists, ‘The 2023 XENO PRIZE for Artists’ Books’.
In pursuit of its mission to present, preserve, interpret, educate, and advocate on behalf of avant-garde art, especially forms that may be vulnerable due to institutional neglect, cultural bias, their ephemeral nature, or politically unpopular content, Franklin Furnace announces its new 2023 XENO PRIZE for Performance Art and Artists’ Books, named in honor of xenophiles, people who appreciate all people and cultures.
The XENO PRIZE for Artists’ Books will be selected from submissions to a Call for Proposals for a cash grant of $5000 to publish an artists’ book on the topic of book banning/burning in an edition of at least 120 copies.
Franklin Furnace will make three copies of the book freely available to the public via its Artists’ Books Collection, and will give one copy to the Library of Congress, each of the 50 State Libraries in the United States of America, and Pratt Institute Libraries. The artist maintains copyright and freedom to distribute additional copies

The event itself will be accompanied by a small publication & a website.
You are invited to submit a proposal to show your lens based works. Please include a short statement describing your proposal and include a bio.

Payment:
An artist fee of Euro 225 will be paid to each artist for the showing of the work. [Please note VAT charges may be applicable.]

The work can be sent for viewing purposes as links to vimeo/youtube or via dropbox, wetransfer or alternative: quicktime movies & mp4’s work best.

some notes:
the installed videos will be shown without sound
the video works will be situated in the public sphere
works will be shown on a constant loop from 4pm to midnight every day of the week of 29th October – 5th November 2023
exhibited works will be shown using a Media-player & a projector
the format of showing the work is by using large windows as projection screens.
