This piece, shown here framed, is a study for a larger work. It is literally roadside wildflowers along the Brown's River where it runs under the road. The layers of wildflowers and weeds along the banks of the stream in early evening light was irresistible. However the complexity of the different textures lead me to choose a small section of the larger scene to paint and work out how to portray the various growth. I like how it came out and now will work on the larger painting. I consider this a complete painting even though it was meant as a study as I put effort into finishing the work to the best of my abilities.
