Oh that light!
When the sun came up over Smuggler's Notch in Cambridge Vermont I was not sure what it would look like or how long it would take to create something interesting. Expecting to have to wait quite a while to have the sun crest Madonna Mountain to bring light to the cliffs in the notch I was pleasantly surprised to see a band of golden sunlight light the far side of the notch prior to reaching the inner notch. With the old beaver pond in the foreground with just enough open water to reflect that light and unify the the painting I knew I had my composition. This location has already yielded a number of paintings and I am certain many more are to come.
