After the rain is a painting I worked on over several months. During that time it went through a number of changes, but the original concept for it was always to capture birch trees in a wood after a rain when it was still misty and overcast. That type of light can be challenging. I did not have a specific reference photo for this painting but drew from imagination and many laces I have seen over the years. It is also the first painting of this size I have done in probably a couple of years. I am pleased with how it turned out and the atmosphere captured within.
