Pond in Japanese Memorial Garden

Artist notes: Spring greens are still bright in the garden as the birds sing in the trees. I start standing at the ponds edge with the canvas braced and bouncing on a French Box easel. Then I finish it the next day in the studio, still thinking about mark making and Claude Monet and Oscar Murillo and how as painters, we are never really alone in our work.
