Artist notes: In our neighbourhood there is the most beautiful formal garden with roses and box hedges. But it is the more random patch outside the fence of that garden where the plum trees bloom each spring that gets my attention and inspires this painting. I love the rather wildness of the plum trees with the splashes of red on the door and roof of the buildings in the background.
