Artist notes: I stare into the winter sea tides with wonder at the rocking of the shells that shift with each incoming and outgoing wave. This is one of a pair of studies that can be purchased separately or together. The title of the second painting is “Butter Clamshells Near Shore I Study” and depicts the stillness of water above the shells.
