Artist notes: I stare into the winter sea tides with wonder at the rocking of the shells that shift with each incoming and outgoing wave. This is one of a pair of studies that can be purchased separately or together. The title of the second painting is “Butter Clamshells Near Shore II Study” and depicts the flow of water distorting the shells.
