"Blue Window Cactus #6" is part of my Worship of Precious series, exploring my love of plants and insects. Using historic Cyanotype printing this small jewel takes a special place in the collection. Produced with a hand made pinhole camera the lens effect adds a fun and unique perspective. With a passion for botanical study, I bring my love of nature's forms to creating. Cactus hold a particular interest in their diversity and unusual shapes and sizes. This series of window cactus are created using contact negatives and historic cyanotype photo process. I am returning to using analog methods I began in the 90's, including cyanotypes on art paper with deckled edges.This piece and others were created during my employment as a photographic support staff in a science bio optics lab. Housed in a basement I appreciated the sunken windows at the back of the lab.
