Riverborne
Sphere 1-22
22 × 22 × 22 cm
Pebbles
Gathered from the courses of long-forgotten rivers, Riverborne unites fragments of distant landscapes into a single, harmonious sphere. Each stone carries its own memory — of movement, erosion, and renewal — now suspended in stillness.
The sculpture embodies the slow intelligence of water: shaping, refining, and returning the world to balance. Within its polished surface, the traces of time and tide converge — a meditation on endurance, transformation, and the eternal rhythm of the earth.
Stone Map
🔴 Red Jasper – Iron-rich and grounding, red jasper anchors the sculpture in the strength of the earth. Once rolled through riverbeds, it carries the energy of movement and the calm of return.
⚫ Basalt – Volcanic and ancient, born of fire then cooled by air and water. It is the earth’s pulse solidified, symbolising endurance and the elemental beginnings of form.
🤍 Quartzite – Pale and luminous, transformed from sand to stone through pressure and time. A vessel of clarity and quiet resilience.
🟤 Chert – Smooth beige and taupe tones, shaped from ancient ocean sediments. A stone of patience and deep continuity.
💎 Agate – Layered and translucent, formed from mineral water flowing through volcanic stone. It carries harmony and balance — water’s fluid spirit captured in rock.
