Meandering Arc
Irish Beach Pebbles
Meandering Arc is a sculptural meditation on connection, flow, and the unpredictable pathways of existence. Crafted from carefully selected pebbles, the work resembles a sinuous rope of stones that forms an arc before wandering off into an unbound trajectory. The arc suggests a moment of tension or intention—a deliberate structure—while the meandering continuation evokes the fluid, often uncertain course of life beyond the familiar.
Each pebble, chosen for its texture, colour, and form, appears as if strung together by an invisible thread, balancing precariously yet harmoniously. Their soft curves, shaped by centuries of water and weather, speak to the passage of time and the interconnectedness of natural processes. The sculpture’s flow invites the viewer to trace its journey, to consider the tension between order and chaos, structure and freedom, beginnings and infinite possibilities.
Placed in a space Meandering Arc becomes a quiet yet dynamic presence, encouraging reflection on how paths—like lives—are both intentional and shaped by forces beyond control. It is at once grounded in the earth and suggestive of movement, an ode to the beauty of wandering and the stories that emerge along the way.
