KJ Herman wearing his British-style flat cap, and a warm wool shirt KJ made himself from a wool blanket, before this style shirt pullover was available on the market. Just right for a day in the drizzle and cold wind. He's a salmon and halibut fisherman based in Kodiak, Alaska. He fishes in Bristol Bay, said to be the world's biggest red salmon fishery. KJ is one of life's unforgettable human beings, says the artist. The charcoal drawing is on Arches Cover White, with a little bit of pastel on the cap and forehead.
