“Part of a series titled ‘My Ranching Life’, this photo was taken at the White River Crossing on the old TL Ranch south of Belvidere, SD. We trailed 300 head of Bob Fortune’s yearlings for 18 miles. I have been documenting present-day cattle work from horseback with
a Noblex 120 swing camera while working on a ranch previously owned by Earl Thode, the first World Champion All-Around Cowboy & Bronc Rider in 1929. This land has a permanence all its own ... hardworking family ranchers surviving, carrying on their Western heritage.”
