“I am enthralled with the beautiful skies in South Dakota. Having been born and raised in northeastern South Dakota, I became aware at an early age of the vastness of the landscape. To me, this is what sets this state off from other states. My goal in this painting was to show the activity on so many farms in the summer and fall — the hottest time of the year.
There is a promise of rain.”
