My interdisciplinary practice investigates the social and linguistic constructs that shape identity, history, and collective memory in the United States.
MessageA fragile white turbine stands before shattered glass, its clean geometry disrupted by fracture and collapse. The work stages a contradiction at the center of contemporary energy politics: renewable infrastructure is presented as progress, only to be abandoned in favor of the persistence of oil and gas interests. The broken pane functions as both ruin and reflection, implicating the viewer in systems sustained by public subsidy and private gain.
Referencing the U.S. federal government’s agreement to pay nearly $2 billion to offshore wind developers abandoning planned projects, the piece examines how climate ambition can be redirected into fossil fuel expansion. The work raises questions about whether such public reimbursements represent responsible governance, legal obligation, or corporate concession, exposing the instability between environmental policy and economic power.
