My interdisciplinary practice investigates the social and linguistic constructs that shape identity, history, and collective memory in the United States.
MessageThe work reflects on the fragility of truth, memory, and education under authoritarian pressure. A rolled scroll, bound in tangled black threads of a graduation hat tassel and set within a floral frame, represents knowledge that remains present but constrained.
The threads evoke censorship and political coercion, referencing attacks on DEI programs, education oversight, and institutions preserving marginalized histories. Access to knowledge is restricted rather than erased.
The floral backdrop suggests cultural memory, its beauty and vulnerability under strain. History appears suspended: bound, precarious, and not yet unfolded.
