My art practice challenges social and linguistic constructs in the United States through precisely crafted artworks organized into collections.
MessageReferencing Executive Order 14168, which enforces a “biological truth” of sex while depicting gender diversity as extremism, the work reveals how state power weaponizes language and imagery. Stark geometries, official seals, and bureaucratic typography impose a sense of surveillance and control, echoing the order’s drive to confine identities within rigid binaries. Fragments of the transgender flag’s colors appear muted or suppressed, visualizing erasure under state mandate. Toy soldiers march across the surface, evoking militarized enforcement of gender norms and the use of state power to control personal identity.
