Un·ti·dy is a precarious construction of fragmented order, balancing linear steel figures atop layered, domestic materials. Steel—often coded as a “male material,” tied to industry, labor, and strength—collides here with wallpaper, with domesticity and decoration. The stacked, uneven composition resists neat categorization, echoing its definition: “not arranged neatly and in order.” The figures strain upward, climbing, reaching, or collapsing, suggesting how identities, relationships, and systems often resist containment, slipping beyond tidy boundaries.
