My interdisciplinary practice investigates the social and linguistic constructs that shape identity, history, and collective memory in the United States.
MessageThis work embodies the paradox of trying to define what inherently resists definition. A slender figure teeters on the precipice of a high beam, tethered to a fragile, suspended form below. The tension in the string suggests connection yet instability—a line between presence and absence, knowing and unknowing. The sculpture stages the impossibility of pinning queerness to a singular image or language, echoing Jagose’s warning that attempts to grasp queerness risk fixing it. Instead, the piece opens a field of potentialities—elastic, precarious, and unresolved—inviting the viewer to witness queerness as movement, not category.
