My interdisciplinary practice investigates the social and linguistic constructs that shape identity, history, and collective memory in the United States.
MessageThis participatory work invites viewers to question attempts to fix or define queerness. Beginning as a structured chalkboard drawing, the image is slowly erased by visitors using an eraser placed on a pedestal nearby. As layers disappear, the act itself becomes a metaphor for queer theory’s resistance to categorization. To define “Queer” is to constrain or kill it; queerness thrives in fluidity, ambiguity, and transformation, defying boundaries imposed by social constructs of gender and identity.
