"Ripples" was inspired by the 1976 Genesis song of the same name. This piece was the first of the Riverbowl series created by Serena Kovalosky as an exploration of the water element, particularly symbolism of river water that is constantly moving and changing.

"Sail away, away
Ripples never come back."

The brass gilding in this piece is an alloy that will age over many years. The effect is intentional to reflect the natural cycles of nature.
