Looking through the eyes of a child without distortion and the prejudices of ready-made images is the basis of creativity. Creativity comes from within, from fresh responses unique to the individual. Color, light, and space are the creative forces in which I am most interested. Tensions and balances among these things interest me greatly. Patterns of Light was an attempt to see ugly and banal objects creatively, transforming the objects into beautiful colors and arranging the space within tension into an environment revealed in light.
