- Composition in Red, 1967
- etching and aquatint
- 23.5 x 17 in
Composition in Red bears witness to the fact that I have not abandoned the abstract. Lines in this intaglio etching are dry point, cut with the burin, and acid bitten. Values are basically aquatint and soft ground textures. Some areas are scraped and burnished. After an intaglio printing, color was applied with a soft gelatin brayer and ink less viscous than for the intaglio inking, after the manner of Hayter.
