A mainstay in the Roanoke arts scene, Katherine Devine has used her knowledge to aid the community and grow its arts awareness. A regular at both the Grandin Farmers’ Market and the City Market, she creates and sells her own work.

This piece illustrates the many roles Katherine Devine has played in the Roanoke Valley, from face-painting for festivals, teaching art classes and workshops, exhibiting her original artwork and curating art shows, and as a graphic designer for many local businesses. She sees her relationship to the community as a series of creative interactions. Devine is the current artist in residence with the Sister Cities of the Roanoke Valley.
