Created in 2020, Koi is a large-scale mixed-media piece inspired by the character Sio from Afro Samurai: Resurrection. Using acrylic paint, gemstones, glitter, and a full resin coat on a 36 x 24-inch wooden canvas, this work blends anime influence with my own visual language. It’s a portrait that merges bold colour and texture, capturing both the character’s essence and my evolving style at that time.
