Diverse Daria is part of a series inspired by the cartoon character, Daria using her recognizable facial shape and glasses as a starting point rather than a template. I reimagined the character through different faces, skin tones and identities to explore representation in a space where it was largely absent growing up. As a fan of the cartoon series, I had a lot of fun creating custom work for those who wanted one for themselves.

Each piece is painted on wooden canvas using acrylic paint and Posca markers, then sealed with glittered resin to give it a finished, pop-art surface. The work sits between fan art and personal reinterpretation — familiar, but intentionally altered to reflect a broader range of people and experiences.
