Light storms and rose gold, dusky clouds and mercury, emeralds and amethysts.

It is Lake Maumelle from Loon Park off Hwy 10 in Arkansas US. I am drawn to this park every time I go this way. I always forget about until the first glints of Lake Maumelle are ahead, and this spot never disappoints. In 2016 I took the photography Serenity from up on the bridge while parked at Loon Park. In 2022, I stop for the magical light show. In 2024, I stop to see Lake Maumelle's underbelly revealed more extremely than I've ever known the droughted water to uncover. Its October 2024 then where I video the sound of the water tossing itself against the shore as if to reach what it has lost.
