Based on one of my own photographs, this painting captures the moment when the sun slipped low over the dunes, casting its final light across the water. The reflection shimmered with warmth, while everything untouched by the sun sank into deep, velvety shadow.
It was a fleeting, delicate balance of brilliance and darkness—a contrast that made the scene feel both serene and dramatic. The subtleties of color were especially challenging to capture on camera, and much of the painting’s quiet radiance is best experienced in person.
