Marcella Hayes Muhammad
Maruvian Turquoise, Copper and Silver Masks by Marcella Hayes Muhammad Image: I am influenced by ancient Mayan, African and Japanese masks and how the stylistic elements can be combined to create a blend of textures, metals and stone. This painting took about a year to it's final stage. There are actual turquoise stones placed into the eyes as an enhancement to the essence of this painting. The most time consuming part of this painting is in the turquoise application with gold foil accents in the Mayan part of the mask.
