Plastic Space Maruvian Masks
These works are a collection of positive ancient masks from around the world abstracted to blend together in harmony. The artist has researched and explored many different masks from around the world and chose to use the ancient uplifting and culture building masks that have a positive and enriching focus. Masks from Africa, Asia, the Islands, Native Americans, Eskimo, Mayan and other long extinct cultural masks have found a place in these compositions by Marcella Muhammad.
Plastic Space Musical
This work combines themes that have interested Marcella Muhammad for the past few years. Musical instruments both modern and ancient. Like the original music created, they are combined in original composition to reflect times and themes. Each composition blends multiple colors, textures, and layers to make the images more tangible for viewers. The artist uses oil on canvas that is sometimes smooth or textured using collage, gold foil or other objects as the image dictates.
Plastic Space Still Life
This collection was inspired by a vacation in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. The artist uses her signature style of Plastic Space or "Plasticism" abstraction to explore the application of still life objects with a cultural and tropical flair.
