Snow is infrequent enough in the high desert to be considered something of beauty, rather than a bother. Most mountain dwellers simply hunker down and stay home. This snowfall couldn't withstand the morning sun, and it soon melted off the red rock mountain cliffs. But the forested shoulder of this mountain kept its white blanket throughout the day. I don't know what made the bold footprints across the snowy ranch road, but I'd like to think the small animal delighted in the snow, as we did.
