"He is not safe, but good"... This quote has a much deeper meaning than the little words I say in this phrase. But this piece of art has spoken to me the most out of all the other paintings I have painted.
I was drawn to this image because of the strength, fierceness, and profound love that seemed to dance in his eyes. Aslan's character -- his gentleness, love, and playfulness -- remind me of who God truly is. It is so easy to forget from day to day who God is. And this art reminds me of Him whenever I look at it. We cannot choose what happens to us in life, and we have the freedom to view God in whichever way we want, it is our freedom. Many of the things God allows to happen in our lives are things we see as not good, not safeā¦not best. But God works all things for the Good of those who love Him. So, He is Good and perhaps not safe in the eyes of a human -- for there is so much that we will not know till we see him face to face. But if we stand back and visit with his eyes, we will see that He is safe and good.
