"A World of Oceans” was made for my daughter Zoë to commemorate her graduation from university. The design inspiration comes from a few different sources. Zoë is a UX (user experience) web designer and she loves to travel. We discussed the design and chose the fabrics together, combining ideas for a contemporary design aesthetic. I created the quilt while she was touring around Asia. The combination of wavy quilting design and blue and green pallet depict water, shorelines and dunes. The quilting stitch lines were drawn completely freehand so each line is unique, just like every wave and sand dune.
