About this painting:
When my husband and I set out on a cross-country journey to Big Bend National Park in Texas, I imagined a landscape painted only in shades of beige. Instead, I was met with an astonishing richness of form and color. Along the winding road, the striations of desert sand unfurled like ribbons from a carefully wrapped gift, each layer alive with movement. In the distance, sunlit mountains cast striking shadows against the boundless sky, creating a scene at once vibrant and serene. Standing in that vastness, I felt a quiet lightness—any weight I had carried seemed to dissolve into the horizon.
