This gorgeous perennial poppy came from my Grandmother's garden just like several other lovely flowers that now reside in my yard. So many warm reminders of time spent with her and the things we had in common; a love for flowers being one of them.
I don't often work with these particular colors. It's a good little challenge for me to practice creating believable highlights and shadows without making the flower look drab. Because of the intense heat, their show was short-lived this spring.
