Growing up close to nature in the idyllic landscape near Barrhead, Alberta, Canada, was nothing less than magical. By delving into every nook and cranny of the enigmatic environment surrounding me, I found a deep appreciation for what, in country life, is considered commonplace. Once the family farm was sold, my recollections of the sweeping land, lonely gravel roads, mailboxes and fences grew more precious than ever. These were tales that I would eventually re-tell on canvas. I wanted to share what had become a part of me so that others could be inspired by, or re-live their own memories of rural Alberta.
This love for the land and nature led me on a personal 40 year journey of discovery through the medium of acrylics. Basically self-taught through years of focused practice, closely observing nature, applying advice from other artists through their critiques and always looking to learn more has brought my art practice to where it is today.
Currently, I live on a busy grain and gravel farm west of Edmonton, Alberta with my husband and daughter. My passion for gardening is closely tied to my passion for art.
