I experienced an unexpectedly profound, spiritual feeling while attending my first Native American Pow Wow. The rhythmic beating of the drums permeated the earth, dancers danced in their dazzling, colorful regalia, prayers were chanted aloud, and the melodic sounds of the flute filled the air and my senses. These sights and sounds evoked feelings of tranquility, serenity, and spirituality.
