Radiating from this resilient boy I felt a strong sense of pride, confidence and strength. He appeared older than the title given to his photograph. Drawn to the self-esteem and dignity seen in his poise I was captivated to paint him. Assinibione Boy was photographed by Edward Curtis circa 1905.
