Message“Building Self-Empowerment | Step 3 | Incorporate Physical Practice” explores movement as a catalyst for growth and resilience. This work suggests that empowerment is not only intellectual or emotional but embodied; a practice rooted in discipline, repetition, and presence. Step 3 reflects the necessity of physical engagement in rebuilding strength, balance, and confidence amid constrained circumstances.
Part of the MyPOP (My Print on Poverty) collection, this series investigates social mobility and the contradictions between idealized prosperity and lived experience. It examines the steps toward empowerment within systems of inequity, highlighting how community and self-awareness can emerge from material hardship. Through layered visual metaphors, the work challenges stereotypes of poverty while honoring the persistence required to move beyond them.
The surface is coated with a malleable wax texture, symbolizing both preservation and transformation. Distressed collage elements serve as storytelling tools, representing obstacles, erosion, and the embodied process of renewal.

For me, creating has always been a companion, allowing me to make sense of seemingly uncontrolled situations through controlled mediums.
