Message“Intervention | Access to Resources” explores how social mobility depends on far more than financial means. At its center, a child, symbolizing education, is framed within a united family, underscoring the role of learning, relationships, and mentorship in shaping opportunity. Silhouette figures move forward independently yet in shared direction, suggesting perseverance and individual choice. Graph bars are transformed into ascending steps, visualizing progress toward upward mobility, while a cityscape shares the horizon line with the figures, representing the vital link between people and accessible resources.
Part of the MyPOP (My Print on Poverty) collection, this work examines the contradictions between idealized prosperity and lived experience. Through symbolic composition and layered texture, the series challenges stereotypes of poverty and highlights the community and determination that make advancement possible even under constraint.
The surface is coated with a malleable wax texture, symbolizing both preservation and transformation. Distressed collage elements act as storytelling devices; embodying barriers, erosion, and the enduring pursuit of balance and opportunity.
