Centering Myself, Outdoors collection
a collaboration with ClearWater Conservancy
The Boal Estate was the Boal family home for eight generations and tells the fascinating story of America as seen through this one family. For over 200 years, the Boal family helped shape our community. Over the last several, the true extent of this site’s historical and cultural treasures are being uncovered, catalogued, restored, and preserved.
Bob Cameron led the Centred Outdoors hike along the Boal Estate’s trails, while sharing stories of several of the ways the Boal family weaved through our nation’s history.
I found the perfect spot to paint just downstream from where Boalsburg’s Blue Spring rises and flows toward Spring Creek. This spring no doubt played an important role in the Boal family’s settlement here.
