Centering Myself, Outdoors collection
a collaboration with ClearWater Conservancy
The purchase and transfer of Musser Gap to Rothrock State Forest was one of my favorite conservation projects as ClearWater's Executive Director. We protected an important groundwater recharge area and drinking water source for the community, as well as vital wildlife habitat and a new recreational gateway to Rothrock State Forest.
The morning of the last of my Centred Outdoors hikes started foggy, hot, and humid, so I started
to explore early in the day. I was drenched from the climb to the top of the Frog Hollow Trail, and the cool breeze on the ridge back was welcome relief.
The view I painted on the way back down the Musser Gap Trail is where the path curves around to cross the headwaters stream and follow it back down the ridge.
